Take Note

Take Note (2008) Elite Zexer’s award winning short deals with compulsory army service, social anxiety and the class war. This short screened at festivals such as The Milano International Film Festival, The Istanbul International Film Festival and has won the best short award in the 13th Tel-Aviv Student Film Festival.

Synopsis:

This story takes place in a military boot camp in Israel, where military service is also compulsory for women. Anna tries to prove her capability as an instructor by forcing military discipline on trainees. However, it is not easy to control the trainees, and the feud between her and them escalates. Anna cannot identify with the trainees and also she has problems getting along with her fellow instructors. The director addresses the conflict between the instructors, who tend to be from wealthy families, and the trainees, who tend to be from low-income families.
